Platex Adopted the Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy

General Manager approved the company’s Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy.

Platex Metals Trading LLC (“Platex”) is committed to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in all its forms across our business operations and supply chain. This statement is made in accordance with international best practices, the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015, and the UAE’s commitment to combating human trafficking under Federal Law No. 51 of 2006.

Our Commitment

We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships, and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery is not taking place anywhere in our business or supply chains.

Key Principles

  • Supply Chain Vigilance: We conduct due diligence on all new and existing suppliers and partners, with particular focus on regions and sectors where modern slavery risks are prevalent in the precious metals industry.
  • Prohibition of Forced Labour: We prohibit forced, bonded, compulsory, or involuntary labour, prison labour, slavery, and servitude. Workers must not be required to lodge deposits or identity documents with their employer.
  • Prohibition of Child Labour: We do not engage in or condone any form of child labour. We comply with minimum age requirements under applicable laws and ILO conventions.
  • Fair Working Conditions: We require that workers are provided with fair wages, reasonable working hours, and safe and humane working conditions in accordance with applicable laws and international standards.
  • Freedom of Movement: Workers must be free to leave their employment after reasonable notice. Retention of passports, travel documents, or personal identification by employers is strictly prohibited.
  • Recruitment Practices: We require fair and transparent recruitment practices. Workers must not be charged recruitment fees or be subjected to deceptive recruitment.

Due Diligence and Monitoring

Platex undertakes regular risk assessments of its supply chain, conducts site visits where appropriate, and requires contractual commitments from suppliers to comply with our modern slavery standards. All employees receive training to recognise and report indicators of modern slavery and human trafficking.
